Complexity is the new trend

I have been working on a Project Management tool from last 2 weeks.

During my literature research about relevant systems like ASANA, Trello, Basecamp and even Atlassian Jira — I figured out something very impressive which I would like to share with the community. It’s not a Formal Article.

Every successful digital product we see on the planet was born complex (Hard to use and had a learning curve associated with it.)…then product owners hire teams and make it simple, easy to use and announce it to audience as updates (After the Success).

The problem is when people adopt complex things — It becomes hard to switch to simplified/Minimal things. Because they have already built Visual and muscle memory for the products they use daily. The most horrifying thing is

“The designer community gets busy designing with the controls used by the big giants. So complexity becomes a trend.”

All you see on Dribbble… Cool Animations, Sweet Gradients and Amazing displays is nothing more then a Dodge. It never works in Digital space. It’s cool way to tell the clients… “This is something your finished product never gonna look like” :P

Design for information — Data and the Audience. Forget about the controls which giants are using.

UX Designer’s responsibility is to design something which works better and adaptable by Data, Logic and Audience.

Any Discussion , Critic or Opinions are welcome!

Here’s the PM Project’s Progress on which I am working on. Cloudspace Project Management Tool

I used the Screens from Platforms like “Trello, Asana, Basecamp and JIRA ” and Simplified them. Any constructive feedback on it will also be appreciated. 🙌
